Monticello Radio Stations

Monticello is home to 3 radio stations that broadcast from the city area.   KHBM is a Classic Rock station and the oldest station in Monticello which started in the 1950s and was located on the University of Arkansas at Monticello (Arkansas A & M) collage.  It was small station that provided not much broadcast power, later it was upgraded and moved into the city where it stayed until the early eighties.  When its last move was made, a new facility and tower was built which is now home to all the broadcasting stations.

KGPQ is a Adult Contemporary radio station that is located in same facility as the other stations.  A 24-hour station it is considered to be geared towards the younger generation with a top 40 pop style of music.

KXSA is a classic country station that was originally from the neighboring town of Dermontt. The previous owners thought it would be beneficial to bring the station into the network of stations to be broadcasted from the Monticello office.
